strange – T-mobile (US) carrier was showing briefly – but now it’s gone again. reinserting SIM shows INVALID SIM …
any idea? I think I did everything right – otherwise T-Mobile carrier iamge would not have displayed. Trying “yellowsn0w -q” shows resource busy. Any idea, here for US T-Mobile? Thanks!

(http://i.yellowsn0w.com/ ) is the source that has to be added in Installer4
    1. Open installer- bottom right hit Sources- top right EDIT- top left hit [+]
    2. http:// is there, type in- i.yellowsn0w.com Hit [Done]
    3. Yellowsn0w is a new source select it

    5. When asked to reboot go to home n reboot using bosspref
    6. When phone on at lockscreen insert yo desired sim
    7. Go to settings>general>reset>reset network settings (it will reboot)

Hey brusco man, first always check you are running the latest version of yellow snow, updates are coming out fast since it’s a beta release. You should check version 0.9.5 now !

Also, if you still have issues, you can report it here : http://report.yellowsn0w.com/index.php

Before you submit, check if someone already reported you issue.
    Best of luck!

steve, we have users that reported they succeeded with their own SIM card, you should try and report back. The original SIM card might not be a requirement after all.

    Good luck !

I done the unlock, it’s work but is unstable.
when I try to call sometimes it’ll cut off itself, when i see the status is showing airplane mode after that back to searching then back to my Maxis line which is using in malaysia here.
    any idea what’s going on?

  12. January 8th, 2009 at 19:06 | #12

    Guys it works BUT

I would suggest waitin a few weeks as it’s still very beta.

    The problems:

    Call cut offs
Refreshing of finding a network can randomly happen
The iPhone become unstable at times
My iPhone takes longer to boot

I’m sure in a few weeks it will become stable and still.
You can though uninstall very easily and u wouldn’t no u had applied the patch

    Good luck

  13. January 8th, 2009 at 19:16 | #13

My dad works for apple, and worked with several others who created the iPhone

I over heard that apple already have then next update of 2.3 which when u apply the yellowsn0w patch you will corrupt a kernel which will enable your phone to function.

So don’t update to 2.3 when it arrives unless, the dev team release a patched 2.3 restore file to download

And somewhere in the limelight to is a new apple phone being developed.

updated the firmware to 2.2 through iTunes, used Quickpwn with previously downloaded firmware, opened Cydia and updated YellowSn0w to 0.9.6, installed, rebooted the phone, switched the sim from O2 to T-Mobile and “ganz egal” – everything works! and now i’ve got “peanut butter jelly” ringtone :-)

    Great iCeman!

And remember do not update to the new firmware 2.2.1 yet !
It would fix the exploit used by YellowSnow to unlock your iPhone.

Zonello. No it does it not. I think yellowSnow will only upgrade their software adter iPhone 3.0 is released on Wednesday and then you will have to wait 6 months. After iPhone 2.0 software was released last June we had to wait to January this year to get yellowSn0w

Tried 2x with yellowsn0w from apt9.yellowsn0w.com, it didn’t do anything what so ever, so I added http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com to my Cydia sources and from there installed ultrasn0w and BINGO!!! So if anyone has problems has problems with yellowsn0w … try ultrasn0w, it will surely do the job.
