Android is running on iPhone!

Planetbeing has announced that he has got Android running on the iPhone.

“Finally breaking radio silence to bring you Android on the iPhone. :)”

I’ve been working on this quietly in the background. Sorry about the initial video quality, but YouTube promises that the quality will get better as the video gets processed more. The back part of the version I uploaded to Vimeo was cut off.

In the video below Android is demonstrated on an iPhone 2G; however, it should be pretty simple to port forward to the iPhone 3G. The 3GS will take more work.

Planetbeing thanks CPICH for reversing support, harmn1, posixnina, jean, marcan and saurik for patches, and last but not least, TheSeven for his work on the FTL.

Apple will preview iPhone OS 4.0 this thursday, April 8! A beta version will be seeded to developer mostly after the conference. If you are interested in becoming our beta tester and try iPhone OS 4.0 before it is released to the public (this summer)!

Hacking the iPad part 1

While we are eagerly waiting for our iPad ordered via myus.com to arrive, we can already admire this video of MuscleNerd performing a ssh connection to the iPad! Next step is to install Cydia which should not take long. This could also bring tethering to the iPad like connecting the iPad to internet via an iPhone.

Hook up your electric guitar to the iPhone!

So you are a guitar player and looking for an easy way to take away your jam sessions with you? Guitarbud from PRS is the iPhone accessory your are looking for! It works with applications like Jammit, Riff source, PRS Jam Amp and many others. With the out-of-the-box Voice memo application, you can record your jam sessions, and send them to your friends by email. The solution is also suitable for bass and keyboard players!

Guitarbud is made by Paul Reed Smith Signature Cables and costs only $30 (I got mine yesterday, it’s awsome!). The moment you feel the inspiration, just plug the cable in and start playing and recording. The Guitarbud is suitable for the iPhone and the 2nd/3rd generation iPod touch, combined with a headset. The cable is 1.8 meters long. Rock on!
