Parallels Beta Build 3036 early available

December 2nd, 2006 skr3dii View Comments

Wow this is a kick ass release, can’t wait to test it out!
Kudos to Parallels for bringing us such release!

download here

My report:

Coherency works great.
It makes everything behind the active window invisible
(except the taskbar), which gives the illusion that the application
is running in MacOS X. (Not working yet with Vista).

Helas, the boot from bootcamp partition option is grayed out on a Hac.

Any workaround? Wait and see…

Remember that script made by Spaz to print your system info?
This was not working anymore with the new 8.8.1 kernel….
Prasys and Joey just released a new modded version, works great with X-Chat 0.16.

Download here

Instructions:

Just drop the file to Application –> X-Chat Aqua —-> Plugins. Restart X-Chat.
To ’show-off’ your mac in the #chatrooms , simply type /macinfo
Please don’t spam.

If you have any problems , just hop by to #scripts – irc.macspeak.net

Here is what my /macinfo outputs:

VMWare for Mac leaked! Codename Fusion!

November 4th, 2006 skr3dii View Comments

VMWare beta for mac intel has been leaked as this is not a public beta yet.
I’m really excited to try it out, hope it will be possible to boot physical partitions,
which is not the case with Parallels.

P.S.: It’s on the green demon.

Digg!

My favorite IRC client

November 1st, 2006 skr3dii View Comments

No need to tell you that, real geeks use to hang on the IRC.
If you’d like to join them, and you are on a Mac,
I would recommend X-Chat as IRC client.

Before you begin, be prepared to a completely different language, called “Nerdy Talk”.

This site will help you a lot to jump into this language: www.urbandictionary.com

Some of the coolest channels are:

on irc.r-type.ca:

#Hackintosh
#mac4all

#OSx86.kernel

on irc.macspeak.net:

#OSx86

JaS permanent fix for new Rosetta

October 26th, 2006 skr3dii View Comments

This is for people who have rosetta crashing, mine is workin well, just tried Photoshop, Word, Powerpoint, etc…

No crash at ALL!

Seen my previous post about first boot in 10.4.8 with new kernel? Well, it seems you have to do this command at each boot (update_prebinding),
otherwise Rosetta will crash on the second PPC app you run after boot.

So guess what, JaS just got a fix for that, so it will work after every reboot
and you don’t have to worry about it anymore.
