Not a rumor anymore, here is VMWare Fusion Beta 2 with DirectX 8.1 support!!
Let’s hope they’ll implement DirectX 9 soon enough.
I want to play with aero inside my VM.

Windows games at full speed

A video at YouTube appeared showing an internal build of VMWare for Mac
with full DirectX 8.1 virtualization. VMWare team is currently working to
bring support for DirectX 9, and therefore support for the Windows Vista
Aero interface. Parallels also promised to implement DirectX virtualization.
