EFI-X Update : More inside news iPhone 3G unboxing video
Jul 03

David Eliott has just released a new version of his modified boot-132 bootloader !

This new bootloader can load kexts files and boot Leopard Retail DVD!
And it is free! Plus open source!

This is definitively an open-source alternative to EFI-X!
You will need to burn a CD.

Just burn this ISO to CD : download ISO
Insert CD in your drive and boot your PC from CD
You should see a Darwin prompt
Swap the CD with Leopard Original Retail DVD
Hit Enter or type “-v” then Enter (verbose mode)

Leopard should install on your PC with no modifications to the Original DVD!

Not Working on My setup! :-(
I am (was?Could go Back!?) a Mac user since 89 (Quadra 80,That was cutting edge back then!) Recently I purchased Leopard New.And Could not install it on My Flat screen Globe 800mgz! I was Pissed! So before I bought a none upgradable “Laptop-Stuck on an LCD”(As the blogs resonated!) I found a thread to You Lot on the OSX86 Projects.
And thought “Right I’ll buy a Hackintosh and try that and immerse myself in the PC’s for a while!”And now Immersed I am! I still wonder if “PC” does mean “Piece of Crap?” (Software wise anyhow!) I am spoiled By user friendly installations and Software.
I have been ripping out my short and curlies trying to Install ANYTHING on this Pavillion.I was happy when I found YOUR posting For a bit….Anyhow!
The worst is that HP/Microcrap offer near zero support.Without calling from Thailand and being walked through it all! ( Bios/Installing drivers ect…)
It won’t let Me even install Windows XP (Which I bought!)Nope only Vista.Which according to Blogs, Is unstable and or SUCKS!
My Q is this.: If I format and do a clean install on My HD from My Mac and
plug it into The Pavillion Would it work?(Guarantees don’t bother me !As I’ll rip out any disf.parts and replace them!)
Should I build some sort of ‘DOS” freindly small200mb Partition at the beginning of the HD and put some “Cool” DOS Kex in there(Which?)?
Any Theories will be warmly welcome!!

    Hi,

great news - i got 2 questions regarding this possibility:

    1. Do I need to boot everytime from the CD once OSX is installed?
    2. Can I have parallel versions of Windows and OSX installed and choose which to boot?

    Thx,
    Joe
