Leopard 10.5 running on a PC

November 18th, 2006 macgeek Leave a comment Go to comments

This is history! It happened in November 2006!

The first Leopard Beta release running on PC!

One day in 2006, when the first Leopard beta was leaked, we got it running on Intel x86 PC.
At the time, Leopard was very similar to Tiger OS X, talking about look & feel.
Since that time, a lot happened in the OS X86 scene, and we are proud today to have
Mac OS X86 10.5.3

I’ve found tutorials for the 10.4.9 (I belive it’s Tiger) versions, but not for the 10.5 (Leopard) version.
How did you do it? Please..

This is not leopard. This is tiger with a Photoshopped “screenshot” of Time Machine.

    Re: my post on 8/5/07

This is an early Leopard test release. I just realized this when I saw that the post date was in 11/06. Currently I have not heard of any way of installing Leopard on a non-apple machine (the term PC is wrong because Apple or Windows or Linux computers are ALL PCs. Macs have been PCs since the 128k. Hell, the Apple I was a PC).

The PIC seems to be cheating!
    the 10.5 is called Leopard,
    the Desktop isn’t like this!!!

you’d be an idiot to download all 65 parts from rapidshare. just go get utorrent (utorrent.com) and then search for leopard at torrentz.com. bit torrent is the future so use it.

quote whizkid515: “the term PC is wrong…”
Slow down there cowpoke! Before the IBM Personal Computer (x86), the term was used interchangeably with home computer and microcomputer. But the x86 was the first to be branded “PC” by the manufacturer, and Mac users steered away from the term for a long time. Obviously there isn’t much difference nowadays!!!

The pic is a fake. This is a capture from TIGER, that’s not de dock from Leopard, not the apple on upper left corner from leopard and not the spotlight icon on right upper corner from leopard. I have 10.5 running on PC, using ToH Mac OS X LEOPARD DVD. It’s working great!

neil before you say that osx86 is crap, buy me a mac pro with a quadro.

Ive been trying to get my 8800gtx in my macpro. My God, next time i hear a salesman say “The PCI-E in the greybox here can be fitted with any pc graphics card” i hope i choke.

running tiger on a 8800gtx is much better than 7300gt.

So screenshot is def. tiger with some editing done to it. Look at the dock. System Preferences icon is Tiger’s; not Leopard’s, the Apple in the top left is blue.. Leopard’s is black, and the dock is not 3D. Its Tiger’s. And if you look in the system profiler there closely, its says it has an airport card installed. Don’t know of any portable computers with airport installed that isn’t a mac. Just gonna have to call BS on this one…

Steve this post is from 2006, that was the first version of Leopard that was seeded to the developers. And we ran it on a PC. And I can tell you now we already got Snow Leopard Preview running on a PC.

i suppose it would be “fun” to boot up a mac and tool around in that bu i need to be abel to quickly restart my computer and choose xp the exact way i had it before. no way would i give up windos forever. not when i still have my xbox 360.

wich reminds me when is apple releasing the iPlay? you know, the system that does… and can do…. and when you use it you can….. with the innovative…. and its one of a kind gaming experience
