The last version of semthex 10.4.8 kernel is finally available for AMD,
allowing them to boot to full GUI!
The following features are now fully implemented:
- VMWare support
- FULL AMD support with GUI (all neccessary interfaces provided)
- free FSB selection
- CPU autodetection *NEW!*
This is still in beta stage and heavily tested. So please be patient,
or contribute to beta testing in #kernel channel @ irc.macspeak.net
SSE2 support is still to come.

This is great but what AMD CPUs are supported?
Can I install it on an old AthlonXP +2600 ?

I think your CPU has SSE2 only. So you should wait a bit for SSE2 support. For now the new kernel works on AMD CPU’s with SSE3. You can check it with CPU-Z (http://www.cpuid.com/download/cpu-z-137.zip)

Very, very, nice work! I really hope this new Kernel will work with AMD X2 (E6 Toledo) dual cores using SSE3. There are tons of us X2 dual core guys waiting for proper support. I hope Myzar tests X2’s thoroughly, and theres no more X2 CPU Panic with SSE3. I wish you guys all the best!!!
