Some huge progress has been done on modding 10.4.8 kernel sources!
Mifki just gave us a taste of his work by sharing his undergoing dev kernel.
I had the chance to test it on my hack and it has booted to loginwindow.app
(which then hangs for some unknown reason yet).

skr3dii,
Is it really necessary to create the testing env you suggested? Or may I just copy it to the root of a 10.4.8 (JaS) volume and select it with darwin bootloader?
Thanx!

I think yes, because it is working with 10.4.8 drivers and so on! With a working 10.4.8 (JaS) you have decrypted bins and old drivers!
So, “yes” I think its necessary to create a testing part!

You need a 10.4.8 clean install, unpatched. To benefit from all the new kext, rosetta and so on.

This is still incompatible with SSE2 - correct? It is Semthex’s kernel that has all the fixes?

skr3dii, Neonkoala,
OK. I’ll try a clean install.
Thank you guys!

Oopps… I meant NeoPheus, not Neonkoala…

Neonkoala, SSE2/SSE3 depends on the machine where you compile the kernel. If the machine has SSE2 only, the kernel will be SSE2 compliant.
